GP - 2nd Saturday Practice Session
David Coulthard sets the fastest time of the session ahead of Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. Mika Hakkinen, Juan Pablo Montoya, Ralf Schumacher, Heinz Harald Frentzen, Jarno Trulli, Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve make the top 10. 45 min: Rubens Barrichello takes third just behind his team-mate with a time of 1:10.103. 45 min: Final lap for everyone. Ralf improves but remains in 6th. Verstappen's spin was caused by a right rear suspension failure. 20 min: Neither Trulli nor de la Rosa have come out this session. 19 min: Rubens Barrichello takes second behind his team-mate with a time of 1:10.285. Ralf spins but recovers. 18 min: Juan Pablo Montoya is on the track. 17 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into 3rd just behind Juan Pablo Montoya with a time of 1:10.413. 16 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Montoya, Hakkinen, Frentzen, Coulthard, Barrichello, Heidfeld, Panis, Villeneuve and Raikkonen. 15 min: Kimi Raikkonen improves in 9th. 14 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen improves again into 4th with a time of 1:10.603. 13 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen improves in 6th with a time of 1:10.971. 12 min: Frentzen on a fast lap. 11 min: Jos Verstappen goes off and into the barrier. Session over for him. 10 min: Hakkinen fails to improve. Several drivers spin or go off but recover. 9 min: Mika Hakkinen on a fast lap. 8 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Montoya, Hakkinen, Coulthard, Barrichello, Frentzen, Panis, Villeneuve, Raikkonen and Heidfeld. 7 min: Michael Schumacher improves his time slightly, a 1:10.039. 6 min: David Coulthard improves his time in 4th place with a time of 1:10.694. 5 min: Michael Schumacher goes out on the track and so does most of the top 10 drivers. 4 min: Ralf Schumacher doesn't improve on his time while Marques goes into 21st ahead of Button! 3 min: Tarso Marques goes out after losing the first session due to a problem with his car. 2 min: Ralf Schumacher is the first driver to come out on track 1 min: Session starts with little activity in the pit lane Session starting at 10:15 AM local time.
