Belgian GP - Warm-up session:

Michael Schumacher sets the fastest time ahead of Mika Hakkinen and Kimi Raikkonen. R Schumacher, Irvine, Frentzen, Montoya, Trulli, Heidfeld and Barrichello make the top 10. Alonso crashed heavily but appears to be OK.

30 min: Nasty crash involving Alonso!. Session red flagged but the session is over. Alonso appears OK but it was a massive crash.

30 min: Final lap ...

29 min: Montoya jumps into 7th fastest.

29 min: Alonso is up in 14th!

28 min: Raikkonen takes third from Ralf

28 min: With 2 minutes to go Jenson Button is finally on a timed lap!

27 min: Ralf Schumacher jumps into 3rd while Barrichello is in 8th. Trulli finally sets a time as well in 6th place.

26 min: Montoya in 18th is on the track as well.

26 min: Barrichello finally on track.

25 min: Panis makes it into 8th with a time of 1:52.519. Irvine jumps into 3rd!

24 min: Mika Hakkinen improves to 2nd with a time of 1:50.694, that is still over a second slower than Michael.

22 min: Mika Hakkinen moves into 4th place. Barrichello, Trulli and Button have yet to set a timed lap!

21 min: At the moment the Williams pair are in 15th (R Schumacher) and 17th (Montoya!)

20 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Frentzen, Raikkonen, Coulthard, Alesi, Fisichella, Heidfeld, de la Rosa, Burti and Irvine

19 min: Frentzen takes second!

18 min: Trulli makes it have to the pits.

18 min: Michael Schumacher improves again with a time of 1:49.495. He is dominating as he did in the 1st Friday practice.

17 min: Raikkonen takes 2nd from Coulthard. Hakkinen, Button and Barrichello have yet to set a time. Trulli damaged his car so it is unclear if he will be able to get back to the pits in time.

16 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Alesi, Fisichella, Heidfeld, Frentzen, Burti, Irvine and Alonso

15 min: Coulthard improves to 2nd but he is still just under 2 seconds off the pace.

15 min: Michael Schumacher tops the timesheets with a 1:49.827. Over 2 seconds faster than anyone else!

14 min: Fisichella now goes fastest with a time of 1:52.436.

13 min: Coulthard tops the timesheets with a 1:52.616

12 min: Frentzen goes fastest with a time of 1:52.848. Coulthard on a flyer!

10 min: Eddie Irvine goes fastest with a time of 1:53.494. Several drivers are on flying laps now and the times are dropping.

9 min: Jarno Trulli spins and hits the barriers at Les Combes!

8 min: Villeneuve goes second with a time of 1:57.340

7 min: Ralf Schumacher is the first to set a timed lap with a 1:54.295. 

5 min: A number of cars are now out on their flying laps.

4 min: Several drivers take their spare cars for a shake down.

3 min: The cars are now back in the pits following their installation lap. The 2 Ferrari's head out for their installation lap.

1 min: There is only a 20% chance of rain today according to the latest weather forecast but that was the same for yesterday and we saw what happened!

Session underway and most of the drivers go out on their installation lap led by Bernoldi. The track is dry.

The FIA stewards allowed all 4 cars that fail to qualify yesterday to take part in the race due to the exceptional track circumstances resulting in the track drying out in the final minutes of the session. The stewards also threw out a protest made by the McLaren team regarding several drivers improving their sector times while yellow flags were being waved. Session starting in 5 minutes.
