Fastest time from the 2nd Saturday Practice in 2000 - David Coulthard - 1:15.965

French GP - 2nd Saturday Practice:

Session over with Michael Schumacher remaining fastest ahead of Ralf Schumacher and David Coulthard. Hakkinen, Trulli, Barrichello, Montoya, Heidfeld, Irvine and Raikkonen make the top 10.

45 min: No improvements are likely at the top.

43 min: 2 minutes to go and Barrichello improves to 6th place. 15 cars on the track.

42 min: Mika Hakkinen retakes 4th from Trulli but his time is still in the 1:14's with 1:14.295.

41 min: Frentzen moves to 10th. Hakkinen and Barrichello on track.

40 min: We still have only 3 drivers in the 1:13's while 6 drivers are now in the 1:14's. The field is closing up which is good.

39 min: The track will have most of the cars on it in the final 5 minutes.

38 min: Jarno Trulli leaps to 4th with a time of 1:14.482.

37 min: Kimi Raikkonen moves into 8th with a time of 1:14.872.

36 min: Amazingly, Montoya and Heidfeld have clocked the same time and Hakkinen in front of them is just 0.001 seconds ahead!

35 min: David Coulthard moves into the 1:13's in 3rd. Villeneuve improves into 9th just behind Barrichello!

34 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 7th place with a time of 1:1:14.824. The teams are trying their cars in qualifying trim now with just over 10 minutes to go.

33 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves ahead of Trulli and takes 11th place.

32 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Hakkinen, Montoya, Heidfeld, Barrichello, Panis, Villeneuve and Raikkonen.

30 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into 6th ahead of Barrichello!

29 min: Fisichella improves to 17th with a time of 1:16.062.

28 min: Not much action in the top 10 but a lot of change in positions between 11th and 22nd!

26 min: Jean Alesi improves to 12th place!

25 min: Mika Hakkinen takes 4th from Montoya with a time of 1:14.651. He is still over half a second behind his team-mate and 0.9 seconds behind Michael Schumacher.

24 min: Raikkonen takes 9th from his team-mate. Those 2 are very close!

23 min: Mika Hakkinen improves his time but remains in 5th.

22 min: David Coulthard and Mika Hakkinen return to the track.

21 min: Pedro de la Rosa moves into 12th in the Jaguar while Fernando Alonso improves into 19th ahead of the 2 Benettons!

20 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Montoya, Hakkinen, Barrichello, Panis, Villeneuve, Heidfeld and Raikkonen.

19 min: Yes, Montoya moves into 4th with a 1:14.652 even though he made a mistake and almost lost it while Villeneuve moves up into 8th just behind his team-mate.

18 min: Montoya in 6th and Villeneuve in 11th look likely to improve.

17 min: Luciano Burti moves into 12th in the Prost!

16 min: Ralf Schumacher goes 2nd with a time of 1:13.953. That is just 0.224 seconds behind Michael.

14 min: No improvements as most of the drivers are using used tyres.

12 min: David Coulthard returns to the pits!. Eddie Irvine continues to go round, he is in 14th having covered 5 laps this session.

11 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Hakkinen, Barrichello, Montoya, Raikkonen, Trulli, Frentzen and Panis.

10 min: Raikkonen improves again and is up in 7th with a time of 1:15.727. Both Coulthard and Michael Schumacher are on the track.

9 min: Kimi Raikkonen takes 10th from Villeneuve. His time was a 1:15.871.

8 min: Mika Hakkinen becomes the 3rd driver in the 1:14's with a time of 1:14.984 still in 4th.

7 min: Ralf Schumacher is not improving despite the track temperature increasing. He is in 3rd over a second off the pace.

6 min: Mika Hakkinen moves into 4th just ahead of Rubens Barrichello with a time of 1:15.013.

5 min: So far we have one driver (M Schumacher) in the 1:13's, 2 drivers in the 1:14's, 6 drivers in the 1:16's and the rest even slower!

3 min: Mika Hakkinen decides to go out early this session after not covering a single timed lap in the first session.

2 min: Juan Pablo Montoya and Jean Alesi go out as well.
