44 Min: Ralf Schumacher jumps to 5th and Montoya in 7th!.

43 Min: David Coulthard goes fastest with a time of 1:36.814 !!.

42 Min: Frentzen moves into 4th, Villeneuve into 9th.

41 Min: Drivers are now preparing for their final run of the session.

40 Min: Top 10: R Barrichello, M Schumacher, D Coulthard,  M Hakkinen, O Panis, J Trulli, R Schumacher, N Heidfeld, E Irvine, H Frentzen.

38 Min: David Coulthard goes into 3rd with a time of 1:37.414. A lot closer to the Ferrari's.

36 Min: Under 10 minutes to go and the top 10 is fairly static as the teams appear to be testing race setup.

35 Min: Michael Schumacher runs wide and doesn't improve his time.

33 Min: Montoya is now in 12th place shaving off another second off his lap times. He seems to be learning the track very quickly.

32 Min: Montoya improves to 15th, 3.4 seconds off the pace.

31 Min: Panis moves into 4th place just behind Hakkinen. Still over a second of the pace of Barrichello. Michael Schumacher is on the track.

30 Min: Top 10: R Barrichello, M Schumacher, M Hakkinen, J Trulli, R Schumacher, D Coulthard, O Panis, E Irvine, H Frentzen, J Villeneuve.

29 Min: Montoya in way back in 21st place. He set one timed lap!

28 Min: Panis moves into 7th place and Irvine into 8th.

27 Min: Barrichello goes fastest with a time of 1:37.004. That is 0.3 seconds faster than Michael's time.

26 Min: Barrichello and Panis yet to set a time with just under 20 minutes to go in this 45 minute session.

25 Min: Top 10: M Schumacher, M Hakkinen, J Trulli, R Schumacher, D Coulthard, H Frentzen, J Villeneuve, E Irvine, K Raikkonen, N Heidfeld.

24 Min: Trulli goes 2nd still 0.966 seconds slower than Michael. Frentzen improves and moves ahead of Villeneuve.

22 Min: Frentzen moves into 5th but Villeneuve takes it from him. Both are over a second off the pace.

21 Min: Michael is almost 1 second faster than his brother in 2nd place. Barrichello has yet to set a time.

20 Min: Top 6: M Schumacher, R Schumacher, D Coulthard, M Hakkinen, E Irvine, K Raikkonen.

20 Min: Michael Schumacher goes first with a time of 1:37.494 - stunning!

19 Min: David Coulthard goes fastest with a time of 1:38.692.

17 Min: Eddie Irvine goes fastest with a time of 1:38.794 followed by Ralf Schumacher with 1:38.880.

16 Min: Juan Pablo Montoya sets his first timed lap of the session. A 1:42.804.

15 Min: Top 6: N Heidfeld, J Verstappen, E Bernoldi, G Fisichella, J Button.

14 Min: Nick Heidfeld goes first and straight in the sub 1:40 mark with a time of 1:39.259.

12 Min: Fisichella sets the 2nd fastest time with 1:41.699 followed by Alonso and Marques. More drivers start their timed laps including Montoya.

10 Min: Giancarlo Fisichella and Fernando Alonso start their first timed laps.

9 Min: No major problems with Prost as the smoke is just oil spillage on the exhaust system.

8 Min: Rubens Barrichello finally goes out on his installation lap. Verstappen improves to 1:40.714.

7 Min: Jos Verstappen is the first driver to set a timed lap with a time of 1:41.047.

5 Min: No timed laps yet. It appears that Alesi's car also has an engine problem!

3 Min: Cars returning to the pits after their installation lap. Mazzacane in trouble with engine problems but manages to bring the car back to the pits.

1 Min: Most of the cars are out on their installation lap. Both McLaren's still in the garage.

Session underway, several cars already on the track including both BAR Honda's.

It will be interesting to see how the times will compare against last years lap times.

Frentzen was under attack yesterday for his traction control accusations. He claimed that he never mentioned that Ferrari are using an illegal form of traction control but are using a legal one that doesn't rely on sensors to detect wheel spin.

Session starts in 10 minutes, Juan Pablo Montoya kept his cool yesterday despite not managing a single fast lap.

McLaren appear to be struggling with their new car on this circuit. However conclusions cannot be drawn from Friday.

Ferrari appeared dominant yesterday as they held the fastest time until just before the end of the second session when Trulli in the Jordan went slightly faster.
