Sato, Bernoldi, Trulli, Button, de la Rosa, Heidfeld, R Schumacher, Montoya, Massa, Panis, Webber, Salo, McNish and Yoong make the rest of the field. Eddie Irvine and Giancarlo Fisichella failed to set a time.

45 min: Final lap ... Frentzen improves but remains in 4th.

44 min: Juan Pablo Montoya improves his time but is way back in 15th place over 4 seconds off the pace!

43 min: Mark Webber is in 17th and ahead of the 2 Toyota's.

42 min: David Coulthard improves but remains in 6th.

41 min: Alex Yoong in 20th and last is struggling. He is over 7 seconds off the pace and over 1.5 seconds outside the 107%.

40 min: Rubens Barrichello improves in second with a time of 1:21.178.

39 min: Villeneuve improves again moving into 5th with a time of 1:23.230. The BAR looks suited to this track!

38 min: Michael Schumacher is a second ahead of his team-mate and over 1.6 seconds ahead of Raikkonen in 3rd place!

37 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into 6th with a time of 1:23.395 while Takuma Sato moves into 7th with a 1:23.520.

36 min: Michael Schumacher improves at the top with a time of 1:20.750. He is getting closer to the Pole time of last year!

35 min: Michael Schumacher on the track and looks set to improve again!

34 min: Felipe Massa takes 14th from Montoya with a time of 1:1:24.573.

32 min: Williams look average at the moment with Ralf Schumacher in 11th and Montoya in 14th.

31 min: Enrique Bernoldi improves again with a 1:23.574 and good enough for 6th.

30 min: 15 minutes to go and there is still no sign of Eddie Irvine. His team-mate Pedro de la Rosa is in a respectable 10th which is encouraging from their new package.

29 min: The Arrows are doing well here, Frentzen splits the McLarens for 4th while Bernoldi moves into 7th!

28 min: Only Eddie Irvine and Giancarlo Fisichella have yet to set a time. Fisichella of course won't set a time as his car is parked on the track. Panis is also out of the session but he did cover 8 laps.

27 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Raikkonen, Coulthard, Frentzen, Trulli, Villeneuve, de la Rosa, Bernoldi and Button.

26 min: Barrichello and Raikkonen go second and third as Michael Schumacher improves again at the top with a 1:21.008.

25 min: Jenson Button moves into 9th with a time of 1:24.490. Barrichello and Raikkonen on track.

24 min: Michael's time is just over 1.2 seconds slower than the Pole time from last year. Button on track.

24 min: And Michael goes fastest with a time of 1:21.685 and over 1.5 seconds ahead of Coulthard!

23 min: Michael Schumacher on his first flyer!

22 min: David Coulthard moves straight into the top spot with a time of 1:23.265. It doesn't appear that the Michelin runners are suffering too much from the cold conditions but neither Ferrari has set a time yet!

21 min: Another Honda runner on the side of the track. This time it is the BAR of Olivier Panis!

20 min: Top 10 - Frentzen, Trulli, de la Rosa, Bernoldi, R Schumacher, Villeneuve, Montoya, Sato, Panis and Massa.

19 min: But Jarno Trulli takes second away with a time of 1:23.634 and Pedro de la Rosa in the Jaguar moves into 3rd with a time of 1:24.147.

18 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into second place with a 1:24.297. Villeneuve takes 5th with a 1:25.179.

17 min: Montoya moves into 3rd with a time of 1:24.850. Fisichella in trouble as he parks his car on the side of the track. His session is over!

16 min: Enrique Bernoldi improves in second with a 1:24.313. Olivier Panis moves into 3rd with a 1:25.470.

15 min: Given the cold conditions it is expected to see the Bridgestone runners ahead. At this stage the top 4 are on Bridgestones. The 2 Williams pair are on the track. It will be interesting to see their times!

14 min: And Frentzen goes fastest with a time of 1:23.352. Stunning time this early!

13 min: But Bernoldi goes fastest with a 1:25.172 and Heidfeld goes second with a 1:26.044. Frentzen on a flyer!

12 min: Felipe Massa improves with a 1:26.509 while Webber moves into second with a 1:26.675.

11 min: Mika Salo takes third from Webber with a 1:27.194. Bernoldi and Panis join in.

10 min: Felipe Massa goes fastest with a 1:26.594. Webber goes third with a 1:28.425. Frentzen on track!

9 min: Allan McNish sets a 1:27.149. Mika Salo and Nick Heidfeld on track too.

8 min: Mark Webber and Felipe Massa go out on the track as McNish starts his first timed lap. Barrichello who was fastest in the wet yesterday is on the track as well.

7 min: The latest weather forecast is for cloudy conditions for today and tomorrow. There are a few dark clouds at the moment but it is not raining.

6 min: Allan McNish is the first driver to go back out. He was 19th and last yesterday in the wet. 

5 min: Villeneuve makes it onto the track. Only Barrichello has yet to venture out! 

4 min: Michael Schumacher appears on the track. Expect the drivers to go back out quickly as they try to optimise their dry setup for qualifying. 

3 min: All the cars except the 2 Ferraris and Villeneuve have gone out onto the track. Mika Salo who missed practice due to a stomach infection has just completed an installation lap.

1 min: And the 2 Orange Arrows have appeared on the track. That is a relief for all the Formula 1 fans and the Arrows fans in particular.

Takuma Sato is the first on the track followed by a number of drivers.

Good news from Arrows. They have announced that they will race at Silverstone but didn't give any details. It is still not clear whether they will be taking part in the practice sessions or not. It was reported that Tom Walkinshaw managed to strike a deal with Cosworth over engine supply. Session underway!

Weather conditions are expected to be better than yesterday. The track is wet in some areas but is generally dry. Session starting in 2 minutes
