Juan Pablo Montoya grabs his 5th Pole of the year just 0.023 seconds faster than Michael Schumacher with Rubens Barrichello in 3rd. Kimi Raikkonen managed 4th ahead of Ralf Schumacher and David Coulthard.
Button, Trulli, Irvine, Heidfeld, Panis, Massa, Villeneuve, Sato, de la Rosa, Salo, McNish, Webber and Yoong make the rest of the qualifiers. Frentzen and Bernoldi fail to qualify.
Giancarlo Fisichella didn't participate in the session on advice from the FIA Medical delegate following his high speed crash during the second practice session. 

60 min: Montoya improves and so does Michael but Montoya takes pole with a 1:11.985. Michael is second with a 1:12.008. Just 0.023 seconds behind. Amazing session!

47 min: Michael Schumacher remains in second but improves and is just 0.095 seconds behind Montoya. He was up on the second sector but lost the advantage in the 3rd where Montoya seems to be very quick in.

45 min: Barrichello takes 4th from Raikkonen with a time of 1:12.440. Coulthard takes 6th back from Button! 

45 min: Pedro de la Rosa moves into 12th. He is struggling compared to his team-mate here. 

44 min: It appears that Arrows did a qualifying run just to stay in the championship but they were not planning to qualify. 

43 min: Ralf Schumacher takes 3rd with a time of 1:12.424.  

42 min: Montoya retakes provisional pole with a time of 1:12.117!

8 min: Alex Yoong moves into second with a time of 1:17.366. That is slower than his morning best but might be enough for him to qualify.

7 min: Takuma Sato goes fastest with a time of 1:14.185. That is better than his best time from practice.

6 min: Frentzen's first set time will unlikely be enough for him to qualify!

5 min: Frentzen takes provisional pole with a 1:18.497. Sato and Yoong on track.

4 min: Bernoldi slows on the last sector and sets a time of 1:22.101.

3 min: Bernoldi starts his first flying lap of the weekend!

2 min: And Frentzen appears on the track as well!

1 min: Arrows driver Enrique Bernoldi is the first to go out on the track. This run will be a familiarisation run for him!

Given the high track temperatures, Ferrari will have to fight for Pole with Williams and possibly even McLaren as the Michelin runners are at an advantage under these conditions. Session underway!

Michael Schumacher was fastest during the morning practice sessions however Kimi Raikkonen was a very close second with David Coulthard in 3rd. Barrichello was 4th ahead of Button and Juan Pablo Montoya. Session starting in 5 minutes

Following his high speed crash during the second practice session, Jordan's driver Giancarlo Fisichella will miss Qualifying today. Fisichella is OK but the FIA Medical delegate advised him not to take part in the session. Session starting in 10 minutes
