Final Order: Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello, Kimi Raikkonen, David Coulthard, Ralf Schumacher and Eddie Irvine make the top 6.
Montoya, Massa, McNish, Frentzen, Bernoldi, Panis, Heidfeld, Sato, de la Rosa, Fisichella, Villeneuve, Salo, Button, Trulli, Webber and Yoong make the rest of the field.

60 min: Final lap .... no improvements as yellow flags are being waved for oil from Fisichella's car.

59 min: Felipe Massa loses his front wing but manages to continue and pits..

58 min: Giancarlo Fisichella stops on the track with an engine problem. This is the 3rd problem for the Honda runners.

57 min: David Coulthard takes 4th from Ralf Schumacher with a time of 1:16.440

56 min: Pedro  de la Rosa takes 15th with a time of 1:17.732.

54 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Irvine, Montoya, Massa, McNish and Frentzen.

52 min: And Michael retakes the top spot with a 1:16.086.

49 min: Eddie Irvine improves yet again and takes 6th away from Montoya with a time of 1:17.136. 

48 min: The tyre situation seems to be swinging Michelin's way at this stage with 6 of their runners in the top 10! 

46 min: Nick Heidfeld up into 11th with a time of 1:17.573. 

45 min: Ralf Schumacher improves into 4th with a time of 1:16.934. Both McLaren and Williams appear to have closed the gap to Ferrari this session.

44 min: Fisichella improves into 13th with a time of 1:17.805. 

43 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves into 12th just behind his team-mate with a time of 1:17.673

41 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 7th with a time of 1:17.213. That is better from Jaguar but are they running on a light fuel load ?

38 min: Felipe Massa jumps into 7th with a time of 1:17.361.

38 min: Jenson Button improves  into 17th with a time of 1:18.211.

37 min: Mark Webber improves his time but remains in 21st with a time of 1:19.594.

36 min: Enrique Bernoldi moves into 9th with a time of 1:17.732. He is now the fastest Cosworth runner.

35 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 9th with a time of 1:17.843. Pedro de la Rosa moves up 2 into 18th.

34 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves into 12th with a time of 1:18.049.

33 min: Kimi Raikkonen jumps into 3rd with a time of 1:16.344 just 0.096 seconds behind the Ferraris

32 min: Pedro de la Rosa is still struggling with his car. He's just covered 2 laps this session and hasn't improved his time. He is currently in 20th.

31 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, M Schumacher, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Raikkonen, Montoya, McNish, Panis, Heidfeld and Villeneuve.

30 min: McLaren and Williams are very close at this stage with just over 0.2 seconds separating the 4 drivers.

29 min: Juan Pablo Montoya moves into 6th with a time of 1:17.187.

28 min: Michael Schumacher improves his time but remains in second just 0.019 seconds behind Rubens.

27 min: Button just improved his time with a 1:18.707 but is down in 19th place only ahead of de la Rosa and the 2 Minardis. It doesn't look like a good start to the weekend for Renault.

26 min: Several drivers have yet to improve on their times from the morning session. It appears that the track conditions have changed and the drivers are trying to adjust their cars accordingly.

25 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 15th with a time of 1:18.275. Jaguar aren't showing the strong performance they've shown at Magny-Cours last weekend.

24 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into 4th with a time of 1:17.156.

23 min: Enrique Bernoldi moves into 13th with a time of 1:18.136. Ralf Schumacher on a fast lap!

21 min: So far the Ferraris haven't been able to improve on their times set this morning.

20 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into the top 10 with a time of 1:17.954 and in 9th. de la Rosa is back on the track.

19 min: Takuma Sato moves into 11th with a time of 1:18.117.

18 min: Olivier Panis stops on the track. He had a good first session and is currently in 6th. This is the 2nd problem for the BAR team today. Villeneuve stopped on the track during the morning session.

17 min: Pedro de la Rosa who suffered an engine problem in the morning session has yet to return to the track. He is currently in 20th.

16 min: Mika Salo moves into 9th ahead of Montoya with a time of 1:18.023.

15 min: Felipe Massa improves his time with a 1:18.241. Villeneuve moves into 13th with a 1:18.395.

14 min: Allan McNish jumps into 5th while Salo moves into 10th. The Toyota's are probably running on light fuel loads!

13 min: Jarno Trulli goes off into the gravel and is stuck there. Session over for him. He was 16th.

12 min: Top 10 - Barrichello, M Schumacher, Coulthard, Raikkonen, Panis, Heidfeld, R Schumacher, Montoya, Massa and Sato.

11 min: David Coulthard moves into 3rd with a time of 1:16.976.

10 min: Michael Schumacher spins but recovers. Coulthard fast!

9 min: Yoong's car has been now cleared from the track.

8 min: And Jacques Villeneuve spins but manages to recover. Michael Schumacher on track.

7 min: The marshals are struggling to remove Yoong's car!

6 min: Juan Pablo Montoya moves into 8th with a time of 1:18.037.

5 min: After a promising start to his weekend, Yoong spins and goes into the gravel and is stuck there. His session is over!

4 min: And Ralf Schumacher improves into 7th with a time of 1:17.902.

3 min: David Coulthard moves into 5th with a time of 1:17.851

2 min: Raikkonen moves into 3rd with a time of 1:17.164.

1 min: David Coulthard is also back on the track after a problematic first session. Ralf Schumacher on track too.

Session underway and Raikkonen and Montoya are the first out on the track.
