German GP - Warm-up Session:

Ralf Schumacher sets the fastest time of the session just 0.030 seconds ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya. David Coulthard, Michael Schumacher, Rubens Barrichello and Mika Hakkinen make the top 6.

30 min: But Ralf Schumacher takes the top spot back on his final run with a time of 1:42.621. Coulthard improved in 3rd with a time of 1:42.743.

30 min: Amazing, Montoya goes fastest with a time of 1:42.651, just 0.054 seconds ahead of Ralf Schumacher. He only went onto the track in the last 5 minutes!

30 min: Jenson Button just manages to start his flying lap before the chequered flag!

30 min: Final lap for the drivers. The track is full of cars!

29 min: Montoya moves into 3rd with a time of 1:42.973.

29 min: Mika Hakkinen moves into 5th from 13th. His time was 1:43.129.

28 min: Montoya moves into 8th place with a time of 1:43.703. Verstappen up into 9th.

27 min: Top 10 - R Schumacher, Coulthard, Barrichello, M Schumacher, Villeneuve, Panis, Heidfeld, de la Rosa, Bernoldi and Irvine.

27 min: Jarno Trulli improves to 13th.

26 min: Montoya finally on the track! - 4 minutes remaining.

26 min: Pedro de la Rosa stops on the track. Too many incidents for a warm-up session today!

25 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into 5th place just ahead of his team-mate. He is 0.865 seconds off the pace. Not bad for the BAR if they are on the same strategy as the top teams.

24 min: Giancarlo Fisichella takes 15th from Trulli while Bernoldi is up in 8th!

23 min: David Coulthard improves in 2nd place with a time of 1:42.863

22 min: Jarno Trulli moves into 15th place.

21 min: Rubens Barrichello improves but remains in 3rd (1:42.989).

20 min: Montoya, Trulli, Zonta and Button have yet to set a time!. 10 minutes to go!

20 min: David Coulthard takes 2nd from Barrichello with a time of 1:42.964.

19 min: Rubens Barrichello moves into 2nd with a time of 1:43.074. He is still 0.369 off the pace.

18 min: Top 10 - R Schumacher, M Schumacher, Panis, de la Rosa, Barrichello, Hakkinen, Irvine, Coulthard, Villeneuve and Alesi.

17 min: Olivier Panis moves into 3rd! 

17 min: Fernando Alonso crashes!. 2 Accidents so far in this Warm-up session!

16 min: Montoya has yet to set a timed lap as Barrichello takes third from Hakkinen while Pedro de la Rosa is 5th and Eddie Irvine is 7th in the 2 Jaguars.

15 min: Mika Hakkinen takes 3rd from his team-mate with a time of 1:43.976.

14 min: Michael Schumacher takes second with a time of 1:43.531 and his brother improves again with a 1:42.705!

13 min: What a start for Jordan, 2 cars out in the first 15 minutes of the warm-up session.

12 min: Mika Hakkinen takes 3rd with a time of 1:44.286. Zonta crashes!!

11 min: Ralf Schumacher also improves to 1:43.146. Panis moves into 3rd with a time of 1:45.132.

10 min: David Coulthard improves to 1:44.128 and remains in second place.

9 min: Ralf Schumacher tops the timesheets with a 1:43.505!

8 min: We could get some indication of the team's strategies by comparing their lap times this morning. Coulthard is the first to set a timed lap with a 1:44.609.

6 min: Jarno Trulli blows an engine in the Jordan!. Several drivers go out for their first timed laps headed by Jean Alesi.

4 min: Michael Schumacher also takes his spare car for a shakedown lap.

3 min: It is interesting that Ralf Schumacher has gone out in the spare car even though Juan Pablo Montoya actually out-qualified him. Lets hope they won't need the spare car in the race.

2 min: The Williams were so dominant yesterday that it seems that only car failure or a driver mistake will rob them from their 3rd win of the season.
