British GP - Second Saturday Practice Session

Final Order - Rubens Barrichello, Michael Schumacher, Ralf Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya, David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen make the top 6.
Heidfeld, Button, Frentzen, Villeneuve, Trulli, Massa, Irvine, de la Rosa, Bernoldi, Fisichella, Sato, McNish, Salo, Panis, Webber and Yoong make the rest of the field.

45 min: Final lap ... Coulthard moves into 5th, Button takes 8th and Trulli moves into 11th

44 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves  back into 7th with a 1:22.174.

43 min: Alex Yoong finally sets a time within the 107%

42 min: Mark Webber spins and stalls. His session is over. Michael Schumacher doesn't improve after going wide!

41 min: Jacques Villeneuve moves into 7th with a time of 1:22.284. Michael on track and flying! 

41 min: Rubens Barrichello improves again with a 1:20.230. 

40 min: Kimi Raikkonen jumps back into 5th with a time of 1:21.768 

39 min: Heinz Harald Frentzen moves into 6th with a time of 1:22.386 

38 min: And Rubens Barrichello tops the times with a 1:20.336. 

37 min: Rubens Barrichello on a flyer! 

36 min: But Panis stops on the track again with problems! 

35 min: Olivier Panis takes 15th away from Fisichella! 

34 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, R Schumacher, Montoya, Barrichello, Heidfeld, Raikkonen, Massa, Frentzen, de la Rosa and Bernoldi. 

33 min: Michael Schumacher responds to Ralf's threat and improves with a time of 1:20.428 beating last year's Pole time. 

32 min: Giancarlo Fisichella improves into 15th while his team-mate Sato is in 11th!

31 min: Ralf Schumacher jumps into second with a time of 1:20.708 and under 0.2 seconds behind Michael.

29 min: David Coulthard appears to be struggling here only in 10th with a time of 1:22.903.

28 min: Bernoldi moves back into the top 10 with a time of 1:22.628, good for 9th.

27 min: Pedro de la Rosa moves into 8th with a time of 1:22.543

26 min: Felipe Massa moves into 6th with a time of 1:22.472. Looks like the drivers are starting to simulate qualifying runs with low fuel loads.

25 min: Juan Pablo Montoya jumps into second place with a time of 1:21.076. He is over half a second behind Michael!

24 min: Nick Heidfeld moves into 3rd with a time of 1:21.769!

23 min: Rubens Barrichello improves in second with a time of 1:21.147. He is still over 0.6 seconds behind Michael.

22 min: Olivier Panis improves his time in 18th place with a 1:24.310.

21 min: Alex Yoong improves into 22nd but remains outside the 107% mark!

20 min: And Fisichella's first time of the day is good for 16th with a time of 1:23.698.

19 min: Both Panis and Fisichella are not back on the track.

18 min: Frentzen has managed to get his car back in the running after pulling it into the pit lane by himself!

17 min: Top 10 - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Raikkonen, Frentzen, Montoya, Villeneuve, R Schumacher, Heidfeld, Coulthard and Sato.

16 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into the top 10 with a time of 1:23.037. Good for 7th.

15 min: Mark Webber moves into 15th with a time of 1:23.679. That is impressive from the Minardi drivers. He is more than 4 seconds ahead of his team-mate!

14 min: Olivier Panis has yet to come back onto the track since his problems this morning too!

13 min: Giancarlo Fisichella has yet to come back onto the track since his problems this morning.

11 min: Nick Heidfeld jumps into 9th with a time of 1:23.529.

10 min: But Michael Schumacher improves again with a 1:20.515. That is under a tenth slower than Pole time of last year.

9 min: Meanwhile Montoya improves again and is now up into 5th with a time of 1:22.632.

8 min: Frentzen who stopped at the pit lane exit is pushing his car back in an attempt to recover the car and try to continue his session.

8 min: Juan Pablo Montoya jumps into 7th with a 1:23.204. That is over a second improvement on his time in the first session.

7 min: After a promising first session, Frentzen is stopped on the track. His session is over!

6 min: Montoya starts a timed lap.

5 min: Eddie Irvine moves up a place into 9th with a time of 1:23.609.

4 min: Montoya, Trulli and Webber also join in.

3 min: Eddie Irvine goes straight into 10th place with a time of 1:23.900. Takuma Sato on track.

Session underway and Eddie Irvine is the first to go out on the track after missing most of the first session. He is keen to test out the new package on the Jaguar under dry conditions. 

The Ferraris were in a class of their own in the first session. The cooler conditions not helping the Michelin runners. Temperatures are rising so we'll see if the Michelin runners can get any closer. Session starting in two minutes.
