Frustrated Perez braced for 2015 ‘pain’

Apr.9 (GMM) Sergio Perez is bracing to end the ‘pain’ of his current situation.

The Mexican on Thursday admitted to feeling frustrated after the early phase of 2015 with the struggling Force India team.

He had to sit out most of the winter amid the delayed 2015 car, and is once again now waiting for a ‘B’ car to pull Force India back up to the midfield.

The VJM08B was initially scheduled for a Monaco debut, but it emerged this week that it is not due now until Austria a month later.

“It is frustrating,” Perez admitted. “It’s really hard knowing we don’t have a car that can take us into the points on pure pace.

“It is really hard to keep motivated. We are quite far from the teams ahead of us and that is not the easiest (situation) for a driver.”

The 25-year-old, who two years ago was racing a McLaren, is now hoping the ‘B’ car is a “big step forward” when it arrives.

“If we make that step then we can still have a good year as there will be plenty of races remaining. If we don’t, it’s going to be a very painful year,” said Perez.
