45 min: Final lap .... Barrichello takes 4th, Montoya improves but drops back to 5th due to Barrichello, , Panis improves in 8th, de la Rosa moves into 9th, Fisichella takes 11th and Irvine moves into 12th.

44 min: A lot of cars head out onto the track for a final lap before qualifying this afternoon. 

43 min: Montoya returns to the track with a new set of tyres! 

42 min: Felipe Massa moves into 11th with a time of 1:47.092 

41 min: Ralf spins but recovers while Webber now sets a time ahead of Davidson. 

40 min: And Villeneuve responds to his team-mate's time and moves into 10th with a time of 1:47.087 

39 min: Ralf Schumacher moves into 5th behind his team-mate with a 1:45.696. 

38 min: Olivier Panis is doing a good job in the BAR, he moves back into 8th with a time of 1:46.737. He is by far the best Bridgestone runner behind the 2 Ferraris. 

37 min: At this stage, a second separates the top 5, 2 seconds separate the top 8 and 3 seconds separate the top 18. It is very close between 9th and 19th! 

36 min: Top 10  - Raikkonen, M Schumacher, Coulthard, Montoya , Barrichello, Salo, R Schumacher, Button, Trulli and Panis. 

35 min: Michael Schumacher fails to improve again. He remains in second just 0.081 seconds behind Kimi. 

34 min: David Coulthard moves into 3rd with a 1:45.407. He is over half a second slower than Kimi. 

33 min: Jenson Button moves into 8th ahead of his team-mate Jarno Trulli who moves into 9th. 

32 min: David Coulthard aborts his lap even though he was fastest in the first sector! 

31 min: Michael spins after being fastest in the first sector. Coulthard is fast now!

31 min: Nick Heidfeld jumps into 10th with a time of 1:47.387. Drivers are certainly testing in qualifying trim.

30 min: Michael is on the track and is going fast!

29 min: The Michelins look to have an edge at this stage but we need to see how Ferrari will respond.

28 min: And Kimi Raikkonen takes the top spot with a time of 1:44.870. Stunning!

28 min: Mark Webber improves his time but remains in 20th with a 1:50.242.

27 min: Mika Salo is definitely one of those as he moves into 4th with a time of 1:46.324. Raikkonen is on a fast lap too!

26 min: And Takuma Sato moves into 11th with a time of 1:47.632. It looks like some of the teams are trying lighter fuel loads at this stage.

25 min: Top 10  - M Schumacher, Montoya, Barrichello, Raikkonen, R Schumacher, Coulthard, Panis, de la Rosa, Fisichella and Irvine.

24 min: Giancarlo Fisichella moves into 9th with a time of 1:47.407.

23 min: Mark Webber makes it out onto the track. 

22 min: And Villeneuve moves into 11th with a time of 1:1:47.731.  

21 min: Now Pedro de la Rosa moves into 8th just ahead of his team-mate with a time of 1:47.377. 

20 min: And Juan Pablo Montoya moves into second with a time of 1:45.689. That is more like Montoya!. He is still over 0.7 seconds off Michael's time though 

19 min: Juan Pablo Montoya on a flyer! 

18 min: Eddie Irvine moves into 8th with a time of 1:47.529.  

17 min: Mark Webber has yet to return to the track following his problems in the first session. 

16 min: Montoya is preparing for a run now. He is in 7th and over 2.3 seconds off the pace of Michael. 

15 min: Ralf Schumacher takes 4th from Coulthard with a time of 1:46.418 

14 min: Olivier Panis improves again in 7th with a time of 1:47.369. 

12 min: No improvements at this stage.

10 min: Felipe Massa moves into 13th with a time of 1:48.105. He has been doing better than his team-mate so far this weekend.

9 min: Eddie Irvine improves into 15th with a time of 1:1:48.203.

8 min: Oliver Panis moves into 7th ahead of McNish with a time of 1:47.489.

6 min: Top 10 from the 1st session - M Schumacher, Barrichello, Raikkonen, Coulthard, R Schumacher, Montoya, McNish, Panis, Button and Fisichella.

5 min: More drivers join in the activities but with no improvements over the first session times yet.

3 min: Ralf Schumacher joins in the action as well as Fisichella and Button.

1 min: Mika Salo is the first out onto the track. Montoya follows.
