Canadian GP - Race

Michael Schumacher wins the Canadian Grand Prix ahead of David Coulthard and Rubens Barrichello. Kimi Raikkonen, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jarno Trulli make the top 6.
Ralf Schumacher suffers and engine failure just after crossing the line. He will be classified 7th just outside the points!

Olivier Panis, Felipe Massa, Takuma Sato, Mark Webber, Nick Heidfeld, Heinz Harald Frentzen and Alex Yoong.

Final Lap: Michael Schumacher continues to slow down but he appears to be just easing as this is the final lap.

Lap 69: Michael Schumacher continues to ease with the gap to Coulthard down to 4 seconds.

Lap 14: Montoya pits! This is a strategic move as the safety car is deployed. Montoya returns to the track and is in 5th place.

Lap 12: Safety car could be introduced if the marshals can't move Villeneuve's car.

Lap 12: Barrichello leads Montoya by 3.8 seconds.

Lap 11: Ralf Schumacher trying hard to get past Raikkonen without success.

Formation lap underway! - All cars get away cleanly.

Expect a lot of overtaking particularly as some drivers will opt for a 2 stop strategy benefiting from a lighter fuel load. Reliability is key here too and a number of cars will suffer from brake problems and that will affect their performance. Formation lap in 2 minutes.

The start of the race will be very exciting with Montoya starting in Pole and Michael next to him, add to that the first corner chicane. Formation lap in 5 minutes.

The pit lane has now closed and all the cars are parked on the grid ready for the race. Formation lap in 10 minutes.

The Ferraris were very fast this morning in the warm-up session possibly indicating a 2 stop strategy. That will make things even more interesting. Formation lap in 15 minutes.

Juan Pablo Montoya starts from Pole for the second race in a row. Michael Schumacher is alongside him with Rubens Barrichello in 3rd and Ralf Schumacher in 4th.
Kimi Raikkonen starts from 5th with Giancarlo Fisichella in 6th. Formation lap in 20 minutes.
