The 2003 8 'n' Pole competition was a close and exciting one. Check out the results of the competition here.
For 2004 the rules will remain the same as in 2003 but we've added additional prizes!
Now you have the chance to win a prize in every round of the competition. In addition, a new category has been added which rewards the player who wins a round with the biggest margin to second place.
You can register now. Once registered, you can submit your picks for any race of the season at any time as long as you place your picks before the event starts.
Players who have already registered during last season should've received by now an email including their registration details.
If you haven't received that email or misplaced your Player ID, you can simply request one here.

8 'n' Pole is an exciting competition where you get to pick the top 8 finishers for each Grand Prix in addition to the Pole setter.

Registering before the start of the season will maximise your chances of winning the overall competition. However, you can still register during the season and attempt to maximise your score per race as the 5 highest individual scores are also recognised. You can also win the category of biggest winning margin in a round.

The way the competition works is simple. During the week before a Grand Prix, you will receive a "Call for Picks" email. Before the start of the first Friday Practice session, you'll need to place your picks. You can submit your picks at any time prior to this deadline.
You will receive an email confirmation of your picks. Following the race you will receive an email with your score and your ranking both for the race and overall in the competition. Click here to learn about the rules and scoring.

While the aim of this competition is to challenge your prediction skills and see how accurately you can predict the outcome of the 2004 Formula 1 season, we are providing a number of prizes for the top scorers in the competition thanks to SpeedGear, the Internet's Premier website for Authentic Racewear and The Pitstop Bookshop, the specialist motoring bookshop.
Entering the competition is free but we would appreciate it if you consider NewsOnF1 when looking for Formula 1 Tours, Tickets, Merchandise or Books. You can check out our Shopping Page. This ensures that we keep the competition going and makes our sponsors happy!

In 2004 we will be awarding the following prizes:

A Grand Prize of $150 (Gift Certificate from SpeedGear) to the overall winner of the competition

A Second Prize of $75 (Gift Certificate from SpeedGear) to the second placed player in the competition overall.

A Third Prize of $50 Australian dollars (Gift Certificate from The Pitstop Bookshop) to the third placed player in the competition overall.

The biggest winning margin in a round will win a NewsOnF1 Professional Binoculars (8x21mm magnification) with pouch.
The winner in each round wins a NewsOnF1 AM/FM pocket radio. If a player wins more than once, they would receive an alternate prize for each of their wins.
In case of a tie in a round, the earliest entry submitted for that round wins. Those carrying over picks from a previous round will be considered last in case of a tie.

Registering and Submitting your picks:

Before you submit your picks for the first time, you must register. You will be sent a Player ID that you must use when entering your picks.
