This argument about Michael Schumacher's driving (Issue 22) reminds me of a bunch of 3 year olds in a sandbox fighting over a pail! Villeneuve, Coulthard, and Irvine are the three outspoken ones about MS's driving.

Well, let's look at these three drivers. Villeneuve has always been hypocritical when it comes to Schumacher, even before the incident in Suzuki. He says he's too aggressive and then agrues that F1 is not what it used to be and should not have so many restrictions. (his 1st year he was very vocal, not so much now.)

Coulthard, who is an aggressive driver as well, is bitter that MS still doesn't consider him a threat. He is a bit put out, I would say. And I have seen him make moves that were questionable, but hey, that's F1.

Then we have Irvine, the old teammate that always had to be number 2. One minute Irvine is saying Schumacher is simply the best, the next calling him names. Do I really have to expand on that?
To finish it off, all three guys are friends. (one for all, all for one.)
It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Let's just race boys and stop fighting over who has the biggest pail!!

And then of course we have to take into account that Schumacher is also very good at taking advantage of the resentment and envy he creates. I often wonder how much of what he says to the press is intended for the ears of the likes of Coulthard, Hakkinen and Barrichello.

Reading between the lines, Schumacher is one of the few drivers that Villeneuve has any respect for.

Coulthard should stop talking and start driving - he is in a good position to challenge for the championship. Diluting his focus on as you call it "sandbox fighting" will not do it for him.

Irvine is just struggling with the sun after being in Schumacher's shadow for so long. Pity he does not get any limelight.

Yes, it would be better to see the aggression focused on racing!
