This is my first view of your issues. Why Heretic? or should I just look up the word for all it's meanings? - Bill S - USA

The Heretic replies:

A decision made when the site was small. At the time I wanted to stress that I do not have a specific team or driver bias. Heretic seemed better than Agnostic or Atheist.

This, of course does not mean that I do not have strong opinions - I do, but I honestly do not care who wins. I care about the sport and what is good for the sport. Close racing, several teams represented in the front of the field and constant change in the lead (race or championship) generates interest and following in the sport.

On the other hand I also feel that the fact that a driver may be at the top should not stop me from pointing out his mistakes or failures. Heresy, sure - but isn't that what heretics do? (For example: at Silverstone there must have been many who paid to see Michael Schumacher race and they must be very disappointed. Does Michael have the right to look after his points when we were all waiting to see the first Hakkinen challenge of the season? Where is his passion, enthusiasm, verve?)
