I think I'll have 2 agree that the McLaren team are on there way down why?? Firstly as we all know, nothing ever remains the same in Formula1, an example in point is the McLaren team of 1998, 99 and most of 2000 was the team 2 beat coz I believe they had the best car and organisation, but the latter I think is possessed by all the top teams. Ferrari seemed 2 be the only possible threats during that period, they kept homing in on the invincible silver arrows and finally broke thru with the revolutionary F2000, as it has ever evolved currently F2002, its the car 2 beat. Meanwhile Williams BMW is the team that is homing in on both Mclaren and Ferrari and it should be interesting 2 know who will have seniority over the other with time, but McLaren I'd have thought lost it last yr after what was a dismal performance even by their standards, and the fact that 2 time world champion Mika Hakkinen didn't get a pole position last and retired in 8 or so races is just the tip of the iceberg, more disaster I think is yet 2 strike but I hope am wrong however...Mika was a true aero-car pilot and will be sorely missed - Godwin T - United Kingdom (Reference Heretic 4-04 - Is McLaren on the way down ?)

The Heretic replies:

What goes round comes round. McLaren will bounce back. Mercedes cannot afford to let BMW get the upper hand.

Let’s see where the new Ferrari gets. Their current car will not stay ahead of Williams.
