After 5 years at Ferrari, Michael Schumacher has now fulfilled his dream of bringing the Drivers' title to Ferrari for the first time since 1979.

By doing that he has also achieved his 3rd Drivers' title equaling Brabham, Stewart, Lauda, Piquet and Senna. He has become the second driver of all time in the number of wins behind Alain Prost. He is equal first with Alain Prost in the number of fastest laps with 41, he is currently 5th in the number of Pole positions at 31 just behind Mansell (32), Prost and Clark (33) and he is second in the number of points behind Alain Prost.

Michael's contract with Ferrari is until 2002 and while his management insist that he will see out his contract and possibly even extending it, now that he has achieved this dream, will he continue with Ferrari and attempt to break more records or will he be looking for another challenge ? What do you think ?  (What others are saying)

What others are saying:

I think that Michael is the best Formula 1 driver ever. In this year I want to see him on the first place too. I want you wining to the 2005. Cause I have heard that it will be last year for you in Formula 1. I also want you to enter the Ginis's book of records, as the best driver who has ever started the bolid. I am one of your biggest fans. I've been watching all of your races. Send us some suvenirs. My dream is to see you while you are driving, a live. Send us 3 tickets for me, my brother, and my best friend. Make them be for Hungary cause I don't have enough money. I also want you to be my guest here, in Yugoslavia. Thank you for everything and good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Djordje - Yugoslavia

Keep on winning Michael for you and Ferrari - Benita - England

I agree with all of you above. Michael will be the new F1 legend. I am sure of that. He WILL win the 2001 championship, looking at his achievements now. He will be better than Alain Prost and gain more points than him. He will set a new standard for Formula 1. All of you are right, long live Michael Schumacher!! Let God's blessing be upon his F2001 and his driving career. :) - Ang S.R. - New Zealand

Shummie..Shummie..Shummie...!!!!!!!!
Bravo...Bravo...
My happiest moment in life till now was watching Shummie taking the 2000 World Championship...
I haven't come across more happier times than this..and I am sure he will take the 2001 Championship also..
Great driving, Very Skillful, Very Calculative, Very brave, and what not...but a very calm person. Who else can match Shummie ??..
He deserves to be the champion as long as he is in F1..
I hope and pray God, for Shummie...
Long live Shummie....F1....and FERRARI...... R. Srinivasan - India

HOORAY!! What a year, and I'm thrilled it happened the way it did. Mika and Michael had a great fight.  And they were both great competitors. It was fun to watch and fun to celebrate Schumacher's victory. I can barely wait until the next Championship - Nicki - Canada

I can not predict what Michael is going to do next. I feel reasonably confident of one thing he will not do!
I don't believe he will be having Francesco Cossiga over for Biscotti and coffee! The comments That "EL Dolcesimo" made about Schumaker's behavior on the podium, during the Italian National Anthem are both simply and absurdly wrong! As an American I find them comical. As an Italian-American I find them slightly embarrassing. And as a Homo Sapien I find them more than a little troubling! The timing could not be worse for this jingoistic moron to make such racist comments. The civilized world is all too aware of the current violence that is being waged in the name of ethnic cleansing, religious differences, and, misunderstanding! And this Bureaucratic Bafoon has to throw Benzanine on the fire I am confident that this simpleton does not speak for the vast majority of Italy - Victor D - USA.

When the going got tough, Schuey got going !!
Great Style, Talent and Guts !!
It all points towards great team-work. God Bless Ferrari, and Schuey  - in that order !!
F1-2000 set the tone. 2001 will show the true picture.
Hard luck Mika. there is always 2001. I look forward to another great year on F1 - Srinivas R - India

Ferrari, F1.....What else is there? Oh yeah, an extra 30 million. I think you know what I'm saying - Charla F - USA

Before, I ever say Only the God can help the Michael. In Japan we can see that. The rain helped Michael. Because McLaren's car is still better than Ferrari but Michael's skill better than Hakkinen in the wet. If today's weather is good. I think it would be a different result in Japan
I think creating a new record is Michael's target - Humane W - Taiwan

I think that Schuey should stay with Ferrari until he no longer drives in F1 and become the world greatest F1 drive to have graced "gods green Earth". Keep on winning Schuey for yourself and Ferrari - Dave H - England

I think Michael and Ferrari match each other and this is gonna be the mighty combination in the times to come. Having stayed this long in Ferrari and achieving this feat, and when other teams [apart from McLaren ] doesn't look promising with their cars, I don't see any point in Michael looking out for other teams or challenges - Prem - India

He is the best driver of all time. For my generation Shumy has shown that he can drive a slower car compared to the McLaren and still win it in style. That is what you call skill and consistency of a sportsman. He has the right mental, physical and most importantly to me the right attitude to be come the greatest driver in F-1. Well I felt so nice to see this history making taking place at my sight. Well Shumy good luck, and god bless you - V. Balram N. - Malaysia

What next??? Win in Sepang, great party, surgery, holiday and finally 4th title in 2001. What else??? - Dasha - Russia

Keep on driving Schuey and get Ferrari another Championship. Go Schuey you legend - Julz

Given his absolute command of the wheel and his uncanny ability it is but only a natural progression to enter the Daytona 500 next year.
Think of how he would be received. Perhaps in the same way as Michael Andretti was when he came to F1.
How good is he  . . . .where there is no gravel pit, only concrete - Richard L - USA
