Colletta plays down Ferrari F1 shake-up rumours

Dec.22 (GMM) Ferrari’s World Endurance Championship boss Antonello Colletta has firmly dismissed speculation that he could be lined up to replace Frederic Vasseur as Formula 1 team principal.

Reports in Italy suggested Ferrari might consider the move following a poor 2025 F1 campaign, but Colletta insists there is no rift and no plan for upheaval.

“We’re all going our own way, doing our own jobs,” Colletta told Italy’s Formula Passion. “It’s clear that news breaks during difficult times, but that’s normal. We all work for the same company, so I don’t see anything strange in these assumptions.”

The Italian stressed that Ferrari’s leadership is aligned as attention turns to the 2026 regulation reset. “This is an important time in Formula 1, a time of change with the new regulations. We’ll wait until the new car arrives. We trust those we have. We all work in perfect harmony.”

Colletta also moved to underline his personal relationship with Vasseur. “I have a great relationship with Fred. We recently had dinner together and communicate calmly.

“There are no objective preconditions for change in the near future – for either of us. We remain focused on our work.”

Vasseur, who took charge of Ferrari’s F1 team in 2023, renewed his contract earlier this year.
