First Saturday Practice Session Report - ResultsMichael Schumacher gave us a hint of how fast he will be during qualifying when he set a time of 1:12.078 which was 0.376 seconds faster than Ralf Schumacher in second place. The time set is already over 2 seconds faster than Pole time of last year so we could see Pole time this year drop below the 1:11 mark!. Ralf Schumacher was second fastest showing
once again the Williams gradually improve over the weekend. Yesterday Ralf
finished 9th. Rubens Barrichello isn't too far behind in 3rd while the
McLaren duo are 4th and 5th with Montoya in 6th place. Behind them, it seems that Benetton and Sauber are the strongest at the stage with Jordan and BAR further behind while Prost, Jaguar and Arrows are at the back ahead of Minardi. There weren't any major incidents during the session although Bernoldi spun and stalled in the final minutes of the session while Trulli and Montoya had spins but managed to recover. Alex Yoong suffered from a mechanical problem towards the end of the session and lost some running time. Pedro de la Rosa completed the most number of laps with 19 while Kimi Raikkonen did the least with 9. All other drivers covered between 10 and 16 laps. The session was run under partly cloudy skies and an average air temperature of 12 degrees.
