Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher remains at the top of the timesheets despite not improving his time during the second session. Only Ralf Schumacher and David Coulthard managed to get within 0.25 seconds of Michael's time. Mika Hakkinen was half a second off the pace in 4th while an impressive Jarno Trulli was 5th ahead of Rubens Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya.

The session did not have any major incidents, just a few spins and a few excursions across the gravel trap.

The times this session are much closer as all the teams make their final preparations for qualifying. 1 seconds separates the top 8, 2 seconds separate the top 14 and 3 seconds separate the top 20.

Pedro de la Rosa covered the most number of laps this session with 21 followed by Ralf Schumacher with 20 and Luciano Burti with 19. Michael Schumacher covered the least number of laps with 9 while Trulli covered just 10 and Rubens Barrichello only did 11. All other drivers covered between 13 and 18 laps.

It is interesting to see Jarno Trulli in the Jordan mixing it with the top 3 teams while Irvine mixing it with the 3 mid-field teams. It does also appear that Prost are improving while it remains to be seen how much Benetton will improve as result of their new package.

Qualifying will be very interesting.
