Second Friday Practice Session Report - Results

Michael Schumacher dominates the session with his team-mate Rubens Barrichello in second and 0.267 seconds behind. Only Ralf Schumacher was close if you consider 0.733 a small margin. Mika Hakkinen was 4th over 1.2 seconds behind while Olivier Panis was 5th and Kimi Raikkonen was 6th.

Eddie Irvine had a good result in 7th while Villeneuve was in 8th place ahead of Jarno Trulli and Luciano Burti.

A number of drivers had a disappointing session. Jos Verstappen only managed 7 laps before his car stopped again (he lost almost all of the first session as well). Juan Pablo Montoya lost most of the second session after his car developed an engine problem. Enrique Bernoldi in the second Arrows had a car failure while David Coulthard lost it going too fast into a corner and stopped in the gravel.

Michael Schumacher and Heinz Harald Frentzen covered the most number of laps this session with 25 laps followed by Ralf Schumacher, Luciano Burti and Nick Heidfeld all covering 23 laps. Juan Pablo Montoya only managed 2 laps, Jos Verstappen only 7 laps while David Coulthard only managed 12 laps. Most other drivers covered between 15 and 22 laps.

The Ferrari's appear to be very strong here and unless Williams or McLaren have something up their sleeve tomorrow, Ferrari will dominate!
