Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

It seems that Michael Schumacher is determined to stop Juan Pablo Montoya from grabbing his 6 Pole in a row this afternoon. Michael's fastest time from this session was over 0.6 seconds faster than Ralf's time in second and just under a second faster than Montoya's time in 4th and no matter how much the temperature will increase in time for Qualifying, making up a full second for Montoya will be very hard. Unless of course he is holding back.
Rubens Barrichello who crashed out in the first session didn't make it back to the track this session and despite that he was still the 3rd fastest.
Behind those 4, it was the Sauber team with Heidfeld in 5th and Massa in 6th while Fisichella put the Jordan in 7th ahead of Mika Salo in the Toyota. David Coulthard was a low 9th with McNish in 10th.
Jarno Trulli showed a glimpse of hope for Renault as he managed the 11th fastest time of the day after struggling all weekend.
Kimi Raikkonen only managed 12th fastest and he was still slower than his best time from yesterday.
Alex Yoong lost a lot of time in the session due to a mechanical problem. His best time is over half a second from the 107% time of Michael Schumacher. He'll struggle to qualify today.

Apart from Yoong's problems, there were no major problems during the session apart from the normal spins!. Rubens Barrichello didn't make it back to the track as his mechanics were fixing his car.
Jarno Trulli covered the most number of laps with 23 followed by Jacques Villeneuve with 19. Jenson Button only managed 4 laps as he only went out in the final few minutes after his mechanics changed his engine. Alex Yoong only covered 7 laps.
Overall Villeneve and Webber covered the most number of laps with 36 while Jenson Button managed the least number of laps with 14 and Rubens Barrichello with 15 laps.

At this stage it looks as if Ferrari will dominate Qualifying however one can never discount Montoya. Behind the 2 teams though it looks to be be very tight.

Qualifying starts at 1:00 PM local time. Our coverage starts at 12:45 PM local time
