Reports & Results from other sessions

Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

The wet weather conditions during the second session didn't allow for many improvements. In fact only 6 drivers managed to improve on their times from the 1st session.
Michael Schumacher remained fastest ahead of Heinz Harald Frentzen and Mika Hakkinen. David Coulthard, Rubens Barrichello and Nick Heidfeld make the top 6.

There wasn't much activity during the session with several drivers only going out towards the end of the session when a dry racing line appeared.

Several drivers spun out of the session mainly due to the wet conditions with Marques, Alonso and Villeneuve spinning out of the session. A number of other drivers spun but managed to recover including Button and Heidfeld.

Despite the conditions, Jarno Trulli managed to cover 15 laps while Nick Heidfeld covered 14. Eddie Irvine failed to cover a single lap this session while Tarso Marques only managed 1 and Fernando Alonso just did 3. All other drivers covered between 5 and 12 laps each.

Overall it was Nick Heidfeld who covered the most number of laps with 29 followed by Trulli with 28 laps and Heinz Harald Frentzen with 27. Jacques Villeneuve covered the least number of laps with 6 while Irvine only managed 7 laps and Michael Schumacher covered just 12 laps. All other drivers covered between 14 and 26 laps.

Qualifying will almost certainly be run under wet conditions so expect a strange grid with the Michelin runners expected to struggle!
