Second Saturday Practice Session Report - Results

Ferrari continue to dominate and this session it was Rubens Barrichello who was fastest  just under 0.2 seconds ahead of his team-mate Michael Schumacher. The Michelin runners did indeed close the gap as Ralf Schumacher moved into 3rd and under 0.5 seconds off the pace while team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya moved into 4th and just over 0.8 seconds off the pace. David Coulthard and Kimi Raikkonen made the top 6.
Behind the top 3 teams, it is a mixture with Heidfeld in 7th ahead of Button, Frentzen and Villeneuve. In fact the mid-field is so close that there is just over a second between 6th place and 17th.

Most drivers had a trouble free session however Olivier Panis again had a problem with his car and stopped on the track and Mark Webber had a spin and stalled.

Alex Yoong covered the most number of laps this session with 19 followed by Villeneuve with 17 and Button with 16. Panis and Salo only managed 6 laps each.
Overall for the practice sessions, it was Nick Heidfeld who covered the most number of laps with 35 ahead of Villeneuve with 34 while Eddie Irvine and Olivier Panis covered the least number of laps with 14 each.

We've seen Williams beat Ferrari in the fight for Pole in the last 3 races. Can they do it again here ? The signs favour Ferrari.
